Automation Techniques, formally Electronic Man was formed in 1980 primarily to offer a repair and maintenance service to companies in industry who had purchased equipment that utilised electronic control or components. At that time most of this equipment was sold with little or no local technical support. Understanding market trends Electronic Man looked to expand its operation by acquiring several related agencies that would address some of the needs of the industries it supported. The selling component to Electronic Man became known as Automation Techniques in 1988, amalgamating the promotion of products and services, so that it now actively manages the sales and distribution of different products with the guarantee of outstanding support.
