Employment Solutions started as an arts and craft centre to the Phyllis Robertson Home, in Pretoria. It later developed into a protective workshop that creates jobs for people with disabilities. In April 1999 Employment Solutions was registered as a Section 21 Company (1999/15928/08) under the name selected by the employees of the company. The organization is also registered as a Non Profit Organization (054 – 156) with the Department of Social Development. Various changes took place to aggressively implement the developmental approach in building a resource for people with disabilities, in the community. To secure its sustainability a basic business approach was implemented. All activities are focused on the creation of employment opportunities for people with disabilities by:
Providing a stable, self-sustaining and real working environment.
Providing a structured disability-friendly work environment.
Enhancing mobility by providing access to relevant assistive devices
Becoming a preferred supplier of labor-intensive operations to various companies
