SA Institute for Non-Destructive Testing (SAINT)

 
 

SAINT is the South African Institute for Non-destructive Testing formed in 1969 and made up of personnel involved in Non-destructive Testing (NDT) in South Africa and neighbouring countries. It is governed by an annually elected COUNCIL where “all members” are volunteers.

WHO CAN JOIN SAINT?

Any person involved in any way with NDT which includes operators, technicians, technologists, engineers, NDT company personnel, third party inspections organizations and NDT equipment supply companies, companies involved in or using NDT.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES :
a) To represent South African NDT technologists and scientists nationally and internationally.

b) To improve the status of NDT in South Africa by :
     • the preparation of test methods, and codes of practice
     • the establishment of satisfactory control over those engaged in NDT by means of regulations for training, examination, certification - recognition of qualifications, etc.
     • acting as advisors to Government on legislation relating to NDT

     • To accumulate and disseminate information on NDT by maintaining liaison with bodies of common interest on a national and international basis.

     • Collaborating with research and development of techniques.

     • Arranging meetings, symposia and conferences on NDT
