The objectives of ITT are:
- to serve as a regional centre for research and development projects in transportation;
- to mobilise the necessary expertise for the execution of these projects;
- to operate professional training programmes by means of which engineers-in-training can be prepared for registration through internships; and the promotion of tuition and research leadership in the Faculty.
These will be achieved through close co-operation between the Departments of Civil Engineering and Transport Economics at the University of Stellenbosch. All aspects of transport are covered with emphasis on: Pavements, Economics, Safety, Energy, Risk, Construction and Information |
